MathVault is designed with privacy at its core. We believe your calculations and data are yours alone.

What We Collect

Nothing by default. MathVault is a privacy-first calculator suite that operates entirely in your browser.

Data That Stays Local (Your Browser Only)

  • Calculation History: Your past calculations are stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB
  • User Preferences: Settings like angle mode (degrees/radians), favorite tools, and display preferences
  • Draft Calculations: Auto-saved work when switching between tools

Storage Location: All this data lives exclusively in your browser's local storage. We never send it to our servers.

Retention: This data persists until you clear your browser data or manually clear history in the app. You're in complete control.

Deletion: You can delete your history and preferences at any time through your browser settings or the app's clear history function.

What We DON'T Collect

Third-Party Services

Vercel Hosting

MathVault is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. Vercel may collect standard web server logs (IP addresses, access times) for security and performance purposes. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.

Ahrefs Web Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns (page views, referrers). This service is privacy-focused and does not use cookies or track individual users. See Ahrefs Privacy Policy.

Sharing & Export

Share Functionality: When you share a calculation, the state is encoded in the URL itself. No data is sent to servers to create these shareable links.

Export: When you export results (graphs as images, statistics as text), these files are generated locally in your browser and never pass through our servers.

Security

Since all your data stays in your browser:

  • Your calculations are as secure as your device
  • Use device encryption and strong passwords to protect your device
  • Be cautious when using public/shared computers - clear history after use
  • Your browser's security updates help protect your local data

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

  • Access: View your history anytime in the app
  • Deletion: Clear history and preferences with one click
  • Portability: Export your data at any time
  • No Consent Required: Since we don't collect personal data by default, there's nothing to consent to

Children's Privacy

MathVault is safe for users of all ages. Since we don't collect personal information, we don't collect it from children either. No parental consent is required.

International Users

MathVault is accessible worldwide. Since we don't collect personal data:

  • No data transfers to worry about
  • No GDPR compliance issues (we don't process personal data)
  • No regional restrictions on data storage
